Description of the classes

Mysore Class (Level 1 -3 ) is a so-called ‘individual practice’ where both beginners and advanced are welcome. In a Mysore class each student practices at his own pace, learning one by one the poses from the sequences of Ashtanga Yoga. Beginners are introduced to a sequence of postures, which they then repeat several times (Sun Salutations). Once they memorize the given sequence, they learn new poses – one by one. Usually, Mysore Practice takes 60 – 90 minutes. Come anytime between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. Make sure that you finish your practice a few minutes before 9:00 to leave on time. You are welcome to join this class if you total beginner!

Led Class of 1/2 Primary Series (Level 2-3) A Guided Class is effective in taking from students the patterns of a wandering mind, losing the connection with the breath, or fidgeting between postures. 1/2 Primary is a guided class for students who already know some basics of Ashtanga Yoga but not necessarily the full practice of Primary Series or just don’t feel ready yet to attend the Full Guided Class. Led Classes are usually more intense than the Mysore Style so be prepared for a certain workout. Led classes are designed to teach you the proper pace of practice, to help you bring your mind to the center and focus on the breath. If you never practiced Ashtanga Yoga before, we recommend you to get some experience by attending Mysore Classes or Led Classes For Beginners first.

Full Primary Series Led Class (Level 3) In the Full Guided Class of Primary Series, the teacher calls out the postures and counts the vinyasas ( movements linking the postures with the breath) of the Ashtanga Primary Series without giving detailed instructions concerning the poses. All students move and breathe together in synchronization.

Attending weekly Guided Class will provide you with the opportunity to improve your endurance and to refine your practice by following the count, as traditionally taught in Mysore.

In order to attend the Guided Class of Full Primary Series it is requested to be familiar with the practice of Ashtanga Yoga.


Please note!

As Ashtanga Yoga is a powerful practice, please respect these rules. Please also respect the moon days and take rest. For women it is recommend to take rest during the first 3 days of their cycle.

Consider that it is recommended to practice at least 2-3 times a week in order to experience the benefits of the asana practice. If you don’t want to practice this often, inform the teacher and take your practice easy. Too intense asana practice is not recommended if your body is not used to a physical effort on a regular basis.
